SAID (SmArt water management with Integrated Decision support systems)
This project is a European project co-funded by the European Union under the 7th Framework Program within ENV-2013-WATER-INNO-DEMO-1, and started officially on January 1st, 2014 for 36 months (2014-2016). The project is a collaboration between four countries; Spain, Germany, Portugal and France. The project was evaluated with a total score 14/15, 7º in the ranking over 200 proposals evaluated.
The project is focused on the deployment and evaluation of a complex demonstrator, composed by several heterogeneous and innovative DSSs in the same river basin, in the south of Spain, which represents many similar basins in Europe. It is based on cutting-edge DSS technologies in four areas:
- Flood control (including the optimization of dam management);
- Water quality;
- Energy production;
- Energy consumption
The project consortium is comprised of eleven partners. Two research partners: UMA and IHP; six Industrial partners: three large enterprises: ABEINSA, LESSWIRE, and four SMEs: SOFTCRITS, SIMBIENTE, ADDITION, UBIWHERE; one public authority: CMAyOT; and one Water Association: SEMIDE (Euro-Mediterranean Information System on know-how in the Water sector). In total the consortium gathers 4 different EU Member States: Spain, Portugal, Germany and France.
